General location: Whilst close to the Braunston and Napton hub of the waterways system, Crick Wharf retains rural tranquillity, courtesy of the Watford Lock flight which deters busy canal traffic. The Wharf is within easy walking distance of Crick's pubs and restaurants, The Moorings (formally Edwards) restaurant is our waterside neighbour and the Post Office & store is 400 yards away, with a well-stocked Co-op supermarket 800 yards. Crick Wharf is also home to ABNB Ltd and to Neil Stittle previously based at Welford. ABNB specialises in the selling of quality narrow boats and Neil Stittle fits out bespoke narrow boats, and carries out alterations & repairs, for private clients in a heated and insulated boatbuilding workshop. Berths are in an offline basin, and include three residential narrowboats. The basin's dimensions limit private berths to narrow boats of between 40ft and 45ft length. Each berth is served by a two-metre stub jetty - boats are moored bow or stern in, with the other end swinging free - so that adjacent craft can manoeuvre more easily within the basin's confines. (This arrangement has worked successfully over the years.) There are a limited number of 230V supply posts, plus night-lit walkways and a water point. Canal and River Trust maintains a disposal station for chemical/cassette/porta potti toilets at the wharf. Pump-out facilities and dry dock are available in Crick Marina - just 500 yards distant. Mooring rates: £8.20 per foot per quarter plus VAT (£9.84 inc VAT), or £30.63 per foot per annum (£36.76 inc VAT). The minimum chargeable length is 40ft. Moorings are for leisure use - we rarely have a residential mooring available, but some do become available: please ask. Availability: A couple of mooring vacancies at Crick Wharf, for narrowboats between 40ft and 50ft long.
